Every so often I’m asked to photograph an extended family (multi-generation) session and was super excited about this spring one (yes, I’m very behind on blogging). I’ve photographed their individual families in the past so it was great to get them all together for this session. It was an unseasonably warm evening but the kids did great!

A baby’s first birthday is a special celebration. It’s fun looking back on all of the milestones within the first year: sitting up, crawling, first foods, first words, and possibly first steps. Scarlett’s winter wonderland celebration couldn’t have been more perfect! Scarlett’s Mom went all out on the beautiful floral arrangements, lantern centerpieces, milestone tree, gourmet goodie bag, and fantastic menu. Here are a few photos from Scarlett’s first birthday party!

Ten years and two adorable kids later, this sweet couple renewed their vows in the beautiful gardens at Le Chene. But it wasn’t just any vow renewal ceremony — Danielle was surprising Randy for their 10th anniversary! Once Randy walked into the garden it only took a only a few moments for him to fully comprehend what was about to take place. He had absolutely no idea Danielle had been planning the ceremony and was brimming with happiness. The two never stopped smiling and Randy even shed a tear or two of joy. A wedding may be the most important day in your life, but there is something so magical about renewing your vows.

Tyler turned ONE last month and had a blast photographing his mickey mouse themed birthday party. This family, which you may have recognized from my last post, are huge fans of Disneyland. Tyler has visited Disneyland roughly ten times by his first birthday. As you can see from the pictures, the party theme was quite suitable and the details were impressive. Here are a few photos from his party, enjoy!

Last month, on a chilly and drizzly Easter afternoon, I met up with the 30-member Bogust family to capture their reunion. With the individual families scattered all over the country, I can only imagine how sacred their time is together and grateful to document their celebration. The dynamics of extended family sessions are fun to observe; the interaction between the cousins and grandparents’ infectious smiles is simply rewarding.

Despite the weather, the day was beautiful and the Easter egg hunt was a blast! Thanks, Amy, for allowing me to capture your husband’s family.

My son recently turned FOUR and celebrated with family and friends with a police themed birthday party. I jumped at the opportunity to host a party during brunch so coffee and donuts could be served. The kids had a great time wearing their badges and issuing speeding tickets while the adults indulged in a donut (or two).

I’m so excited to share a few photos from a commissioning ceremony I photographed a few weeks ago. Initially, I was hesitant to accept the job since I was still on maternity leave, but felt so incredibly honored and privileged to take part in this special day. “J” was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps last December and was celebrating a second ceremony locally with friends and family.

Just wrapped up shooting another fabulous party for Ava’s mermaid-themed fourth birthday. Her birthday bash was held at their backyard in Orange County. The children were entertained by a jumping castle, an appearance by Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and face painting! And more importantly, Ava looked absolutely adorable in her purple and teal ruffled skirt. Happy Birthday Ava!

(Unfortunately, I’m limited in what I can post without permission from the other parents.)

This lucky boy’s room is decorated with a monkey theme so it only expected the baby shower would follow suite!

Dean celebrated his 9th birthday at Scooter’s Jungle last weekend. This place is incredible! A HUGE slide, several bouncing play yards, air hockey, and ping pong tables. The room was filled with laughter and bright big smiles.

I attended a lovely baby shower this past Saturday for an old co-worker. I was also recruited to design the invitations. The afternoon was lovely and I can’t wait to meet this little fellow!

We celebrated our son’s FIRST BIRTHDAY today. Here is a few photos from the festivities. Aren’t the cupcakes adorable! My sister-in-law & mother-in-law baked those!
